No Change in Refuse Pick-Up for Presidents Day

2.14.25

There will be no change to our Solid Waste Division's Refuse schedule for the Presidents Day holiday on Monday, February 17.

Be sure to roll out your cans if Monday is a pick-up day, as crews will be rolling through for service.

Non-Emergency Offices Closed

In observance of the holiday, City of Visalia offices providing non-emergency services, including City Hall West, City Hall East, the Parks & Recreation Business Office, and City Administration, will be closed on Monday, February 17 and reopen at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, February 18.

The Visalia Police Department and Visalia Fire Department will continue serving our community throughout the weekend. Visalia Transit and refuse collection will operate on its normal schedule.

Weekend Rain and Road Concerns

With more rain potentially coming through the holiday weekend, pre-filled sandbags will be out and available (while supplies last), along with the self-serve sand station, at the City of Visalia Corp Yard.

The City of Visalia Corp Yard Sandbag Station is located at 355 N. Cain St. The Sandbag Station will be open 24 hours a day through the storm.

There is an eight-bag per household limit for pre-filled bags. We encourage residents to bring as many of their own bags as they’d like—these are available for purchase at local hardware stores. Don’t forget to bring your own shovel and a helper!

For questions on sandbags, streets or rain response, please call our Public Works Department Customer Service Line at (559) 713-4428.

For concerns related to rain or roadways after-hours, please call our Non-Emergency Line at (559) 734-8116.
