Sandbag Station Now Open for Weekend Storm

11.22.24

With rain in the forecast, the City of Visalia Public Works Department has stocked the self-serve sand station on Cain Street.

For Visalia residents only, sand and pre-filled sandbags (in limited numbers, limit eight per residence/household) will be available through the weekend.

The self-serve sand station is located at 355 N. Cain St. and will stay open 24-hours a day during the rain event.

Sandbag Station Details

Residents will need to remember to bring their own shovel to the self-serve sand station.

For those that need pre-filled sandbags, a limited number will be available to Visalia residents, on a first come, first served basis. This supply will be monitored and restocked as needed by Public Works staff.

For those that prefer to supply their own bags and fill with the sand at the station, they are available for purchase from a variety of local retailers.

Please note, there is a limit of eight sandbags per per household and these materials are to aid in deflecting water and helping protect structures during this storm.

Ready for rain?

A little help can go a long way.

It's never too late to make sure all trash and yard waste is properly contained in City-issued bins and that any automotive leaks or spills are cleaned up.

Clear your drains and rain gutters before the weather gets worse and help your neighborhood by cleaning up trash and debris on your street.

By doing this storm prep, it helps keeps our streets, gutters and storm drains clear of debris, which in turn helps keep our storm drains able to take in rainwater and process it through our stormdrain system.
