Caltrans Announces Mooney Boulevard Roadwork

Caltrans, in cooperation with Cal Valley Construction Inc., has announced continuing construction on the State Route 63 Visalia Mall Pavement Preservation project.

Well known as Mooney Boulevard in the City of Visalia, work will be done on 0.2 miles south of Caldwell Avenue to Mineral King Street starting September 29.

Work includes:
  • Grinding and paving operations to resurface lanes along northbound and southbound State Route 63/Mooney Boulevard.
  • The project will continue with overnight construction on a Sunday night through Friday morning schedule, from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. each night.
  • There will be no closures on Saturday and Sunday nights.
  • Lane reduction sections will be no longer than one mile in length.
Planning Ahead

Upcoming operations for the week of October 14th include:
  • Restriping of existing lanes along northbound and southbound State Route 63/Mooney Boulevard.
  • The project will continue with overnight construction on a Sunday night through Friday morning schedule, from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. each night.
  • There will be no closures on Saturday and Sunday nights.
  • Lane reduction sections will be no longer than one mile in length.
Throughout the duration of grinding, paving and striping operations, State Route 63/Mooney Boulevard will remain open and accessible to residents and businesses.
