Caltrans Announces 198 Ramp Work

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has announced that an over-night sealing project on several on and off ramps along State Route (SR) 198 will be coming to Visalia starting Sunday, September 15.

Closures will be in place nightly through the duration of the work, with ramps closed from 10 p.m. through 7 a.m.

The ramp closure schedule is:

Sunday, September 15: 10 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the northbound SR-99 to the eastbound SR-198 connector ramp and eastbound SR-198 Plaza Drive off-ramp.
Monday, September 16: 10 p.m. to 7 p.m. ramp closure on the eastbound SR-198 Plaza Drive on-ramp.
Tuesday, September 17: 10 p.m. to 7 p.m. ramp closure on the eastbound SR-198 Shirk Street off-ramp.
Wednesday, September 18: 10 p.m. to 7 p.m. ramp closure on the westbound SR-198 Akers Avenue off-ramp.

All closures will last from 10 p.m. to 7 p.m., ramps will be fully closed and cannot be used to access the highway. Alternative routes will need to be used.

Caltrans notes that the closures may continue for longer periods of time, if necessary, if there are any delays caused by weather or uncontrolalbel events that may occure.
