Keep Your 4th of July "Safe and Sane"

7.1.24

As we prepare to celebrate Independence Day, let's keep safety a top priority!

All fireworks used in the City of Visalia must be marked Safe and Sane.

What does Safe and Sane mean? Safe and Sane is a designation set by the State of California, and the State Fire Marshal Safe and Sane Seal can be found on legal fireworks.

Safe and Sane fireworks can be sold in California from noon on June 28 through noon on July 6 each year, unless a local ordinance is adopted and is more restrictive. In Visalia, Safe and Sane fireworks can be sold through July 4.

An easy way to remember what separates legal, Safe and Sane fireworks from other fireworks is, 1) It has the Safe and Sane seal and 2) It is a firework that doesn't leave the ground.
