Now is the Time to Prep for Rain
1.31.24
With a winter storm in the forecast, now is the time to prep for rain.
A little help can go a long way, especially when it comes to gutters, leaf cleanup, trash removal and storm prep.
Visalians are encouraged to make sure all trash and yard waste is properly contained in City-issued bins and that any automotive leaks or spills are cleaned up.
Clearing drains and rain gutters before rain is here helps keep our streets clear, and residents can help their neighborhood by cleaning up trash and debris on their street.
As we enter a potentially rainy season, making sure weekly clean-ups are a part of home maintenance routines will help keep City storm drains clear.
Sandbags Available Now
Pre-fillled sandbags are available to City of Visalia residents now.
Sandbags are available, while supplies last, at the City of Visalia sandbag station on Cain Street, between Goshen and Main.
The self-serve station is open now, and will remain open 24-hours a day through the forecasted storm.
There is a limit of eight sandbags per residence (per household) and are available to Visalians to aid in deflecting water and helping protect structures during this storm.
For questions, or more information, call the City of Visalia Public Works Customer Service line at (559) 713-4428 between the hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
