Mayor Brian Poochigian represents the City of Visalia and District 3.
He was born and raised in Visalia. He attended Mount Whitney High school where he was involved in many extra-curricular activities, including football and basketball. After graduation Mayor Poochigian attended San Diego State University where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Science with a Minor in History.
Once graduated, Mayor Poochigian held a management position in San Diego. It was when he met his future wife, Adrienne Skaff, that he decided to move back to Visalia. He and Adrienne were married in 2011 and are proud parents of two children. Adrienne is currently a high school teacher.
Once back in Visalia, Mayor Poochigian began his career with Cal-Tex Transportation where he was entrusted with managing the logistics of the transportation of produce across the United States. He continues to succeed in securing major accounts that ensure the growth and vitality of the company. Mayor Poochigian is proud that his effort has had direct and positive impact on local businesses in Visalia.
Mayor Poochigian has been involved in numerous community activities. He has been a member of Visalia’s Citizens Advisory Committee. On this committee, Mayor Poochigian was the co-chair of the City Annual Public Opinion Survey. He is also an avid member of a local social club, the Sequoia Trex Fraternity, and has held many offices including President. Under his leadership, the club contributed to many causes in the City of Visalia. The chapter has given yearly high school and police academy scholarships, and donated to local charities including Wish Upon a Star, Miracle League, Little League, CASA, Veteran’s Fishing Project. He was also spearheaded a Christmas toy drive benefiting pediatric patients at Kaweah Delta Hospital.
Mayor Poochigian and his family are deeply rooted in this community and he is passionate about giving back to the people and organizations that make the City of Visalia such a wonderful place to live.
