The City of Visalia is constantly working to improve and enhance public transportation in its service area. Through short range and long range plans, a thorough assessment of system performance and agency financial data is analyzed. The development of these plans comes through different forums for community input and involvement to gain insight on transportation demands and needs in the Visalia Transit service area.
Short Range Transit Plan
The Short Range Transit Plan is a five year planning document that is required for Federal and State transit funding purposes. The plan reviews and updates current goals, evaluates current conditions, and produces a new operations plan, capital plan and financial plan for the transit services provided by the City of Visalia. The draft plan was reviewed at public meetings in all the communities served by Visalia Transit including Farmersville, Exeter, Goshen, and Visalia.
**The Final Short Range Transit Plan was approved by Visalia City Council on June 20, 2022.**

Long Range Transit Plan
Visalia Transit is in the process of updating its 25-year system plan. The purpose of long range planning is to build the foundation for a strong and successful transit system within the community, through community input.
